EJ20G - Need specs/info!!
Hello! I am newbe here and my english is not so good, because i am not from UK...I have Impreza GT(GC8L) 1998 year with EJ20G(2000CC DOHC TURBO) engine. Maby some can answer to my questions.
1--which bottom end components are forged?
2--whether the block is closed or open deck?
3--oil squirters?
4--safe rev limit?
5--overall strengths/weaknesses?
6--a round figure of the most WHP the bottom end can handle?

2. Open
3. No
4. 6500-7000 erring on the safe side?
5. Rods and crank are strong, cranks can easily be torn up by oil pump or bearing failures though.
6. That's the subject of a lot of debate. 300 at the flywheel is doable if it's all safe. Lots do 350 on standard internals, but I don't know how long they last.
