apexi pfc question.
i have a pfc for a 94 sti, how can i tell if it has the optional boost control, does it need fitting or can i see from looking at it, cheers phil.
also i am going to be running without an air flow meter and induction, can the pfc be programed to run like this, if not what will i need for it, cheers phil.

the boost control kit is a map sensor and 3port boost solenoid, ie. physical parts that need fitting and you are unlikely to have them.
You cannot run it without a maf sensor as wrxbart says.. there are no djetro powerfc's for subarus unlike most others.

I still wonder if it might work out easier and cost less to go Link and sell the powerfc and z32 maf sensor.
I'll try and ring you tomorrow to discuss.

away from the turbo.. the issue is the large turbo you are planning to use will create a fair amount of turbulance.. if might be worth putting it in the intercooler pipework.. although that causes headaches too..

The apexi is a very good ecu but cant be run without the maf.mines run with it at 450bhp for 2 years and no probs. The simtec is a great maf less ecu or the solaris i think, there are others like motec, link, hydra, etc

Autronic, Motec, Simtek, Solaris, Haltech to name a few - the choice is yours.
Choose whatever fulfills your requirements, is within your budget, and is familiar to whoever is mapping your car.

if I fit the two secondhand pfc's I have here as planned over the next couple of weeks I might be interested in part exchanging it.
I did a review of MAP ecus a while back.. Link G3 not the newer G4 admittedly but the features and cost was out shadowed by the SimTek and I then became a SimTek dealer..
I don;t think you will find an ecu with the same features fitted and mapped for the same money. If you want the daddy and have more money to play with then the Solaris imho.

I meant as in I do take pfc's in part exchange if I haven't got lots in stock already
I map anything but only really supply pfc, SimTek and Solaris.

i thought that when i asked about it before, there are 3 pipes on mine, the bottom one is just a pipe going nowhere,
so this standard one on my 94 sti is ok to go with the simtek and and external wastegate?

The bottom pipe on the solenoid is just the vent - It can either be recirculated back into the inlet tract or just vented into the bay (as long as the hole back into the inlet is blocked off)
