Default Rear big brake conversion question.

Hi
I have been looking into having some 4 pot AP's on the rear of my bugeye.
Im a little worried as i have heard that with fitting larger brakes on the rear can cause the back end to step out under heavy braking?

Is this true?

Cheers

Presuming you have a big AP kit on the front already I can't see any problem as you'd expect AP have thought this out. I'd guess the piston area of rear kit is modest and not much more than the standard caliper, the benefits being in feel and consistency. If you need to play with the balance you could use different friction level pads between the front and rear. Lastly the car has ABS/EBD and shouldn't throw you in the bushes whatever happens.

it'll be brake balance that if you get wrong will throw you in a ditch, match fronts and rears would be a must.

although not sure if its required, arn't most, if not all, the time attack cars runnign standard brakes, i know they were up until end of year before last (not up on last years specs)

AP are just filling a gap in the market for the "big spenders", where looks are as important as function.

IMHO they are for fussy show types who need matching collars and cuffs.

LOL

P.S. I'd still like AP's front and rear.... Honest !

Cheers guys
its not for the looks factor, its more for braking performance.
Im using AP 6 pots on the fronts,so i think i will leave the rears as standard and just upgrade the discs.
