Lol - checking the clearances on big ends and rods i would have thought as requested Wayne. Basically don't leave nothing to chance.

You will need Plastigauge Gap Clearance kit according to your clearance for spec of car.

Out of curiosity what have you had done to the crank and is it a centre thrust type or rear thrust, i''m assuming it's a centre from your profile?

Have you gone for uprated rods? if so what type?

the car has the following

440 injectors
aps cold air feed
aps 3" uppipe
aps3" downpipe
aps3" full system
tsl tubular manifold headers

Brake of a piece of Plastigauge and lay this on the journal you want to measure, make sure this is clean and free from debris.

Now attach you rod and end cap bolt making sure not to rotate or move the plasigauge or rod on the journal.

Tighten to the correct settings.

Once done release and Remove the rod and end cap to reveal the now flattened plasigaufe on the journal.

Now use the car supplied with the Plastigauge kit to obtain the correct measurement, this is done by matching the now squashed plasigauge with the marker line on the card supplied.

|If the measurement is between the line you will need to interpolate.

This is one way.

How Plastiguage Works -
Plastigauge <<< click on it mate

And it shows you on the platigauge website how to work this bit of kit, mate honestly if your not to sure about using plastiguage i surely would reccommend you take the short block to a reputable engineer who will build it for you. Please Click the blue link fella.

Neil - appreciate the breakdown of info there, had to rush off to put kids to bed last night so hence didn't get a chance to finish and ensure wayne understood.
