Guys
Just started to change the spark plugs etc, and found that i couldnt get a 12mm socket any where near the bolt heads as it catches on the body work.(ill have to find a cranked 12mm spanner got every other bloody size).
Any way sussed out the air filter is also filthy, time to change that aswell.
I couldnt under stand how the spark plugs could be so awkward, any way it appears that the engine sits lower than standard ( bet your asking how i know that) well take a look at the pic, there are as far as i can see 2 x 20mm - 25mm brass packers under the subframe i think.
Any idea's as to what and why they are there, the wheels are 17inch as i thought they had been put on for some sort of clearence issues.
Cheers lads
Sorry cant add pic so ive used photobucket.

They look like the spacers for a Anti Lift Kit by Whiteline. Have a look at the bushes at the rear of the lower wishbones, if they are yellow then it has a whiteline ALK fittd. Also if you look around the lower brace you should find othet spacers where each bolt fits through. This is due to the ALK being bigger and the brace needing to be lowered slightly. Fitted this to my bug a few years ago.

The spark plugs are the smaller of the two sizes, I am not sure how easy it is to access the drivers side ones with the standard airbox on as I have a induction kit due to the FMIC. the passenger side ones can require the water bottle and the battery removing. I normally do mine from underneath on a set of ramps. Where aboutsare you?
Best of luck Steve.
