My PFR 6's are gapped to 0.6mm. Not sure if 7's should be the same.
Easy but fiddly job. Passenger side - remove battery & washer bottle. Drivers side - remove air box etc. A good socket set will be needed with some small hands!!

Either setting will take into account old/unknown condition of coilpacks. I think people do set to 0.65mm with no probs, so may as well set at that gap... Can only help with keeping the spark alight under the increased boost, anyway

It's the code of the plug made by NGK...

PFR6B - for no mods... or filter, decat dowmpipe.
PFR7B - for remapped motors with increased boost levels.

The 6 and 7 part of the code is the plug heat range - the lower the number the hotter it runs. That's why 7s are fitted to motors running up to about 450bhp - can also get PFR8B or NGK Racing 8s for really high power - as the 7's colder running helps with heat/pressure management which helps with engine safety/optimal running.

It'll run okay on 6s for sure, but they may wear out earlier, I'd defo put 7's in at that bhp level BEFORE the map... so that they can be mapped for. They should help net a very small gain, cause they will help maintain cooler cylinder temps. It's more of a safety thing really.

You can get 'em off eBay, individually boxed, for less than £30.Just sell on the 6's on eBay or here, for about £20, so you won't be out of pocket by any great degree.

My apologies - I did assume you bought 6's that you hadn't yet fitted. Second hand plugs aren't worth anything really. I sold my previous used 6's (good condition though) on eBay for £6 lol.

Just put it down to experience.

If only bhp was that cheap!

At least it is relatively cheap to tune turbo cars in the initial stages, then the law of diiminishing returns apply the further you go. Especially from 450+ on the Scoob. Then a lot harder from 500+...
