Default Turbo Choice for EJ257 on Standard Internals

Hi all,

I am getting parts together for a 2.5 conversion. I already have the short block, Heads, FMIC.

The short block is going to be running standard internals aiming for around 350/350 so that I dont break the gearbox.

My question is what turbo would you go for with that? I have looked at MD321T's and 20g's. Is the MD a bit overkill for my power goal or would it spool earlier than a 20g and be worth the extra money?

Finally what size injectors should I be looking at?

Thanks,
Dave

MD321T is a 450bhp turbo so maasive overkill for your 350 goal, even a 20G will easily do 350bhp. The 20G should spool faster than the MD321T.

The M321H maybe worth considering, good for about 400bhp which will give u room for future improvements.

Does the H work well on a 2.5? I think I am starting to lean towards a 20g due to the pricing (Andy Forrest New £800 according to his site) and the fast spool.

Any injector ideas?

the 20G would be ample for your 350/350 needs, why pay extra for the H when youll get it all from the 20G and still have some horses left over

injectors im not sure about TBH, i run a 20G on 550`s but im closer to 400 BHP, dont know if you`ll need 550s or not, you might get away with it

For 350/350 you don't even need to go as big as a 20G, TD05-16G or V34 will do 350/350 on a 2.5 with FMIC and be virtually lag free.

Fit a good quality FPR (eg Fuellab) with your 440s and they'll do 350bhp or go for 550s at std fuel pressure.

ST380 from Area 52 might be worth a look, I run one of these on a customers hillclimb car. Awesome response on a 2.5.

Try and find a 2nd hand 20g just make sure it's a genuine one. I paid £500 pounds for mine out of the classified section. Cracking turbo for the money.
