Question Maf sensor question?....Please help....

I think i may hav a prob with my maf sensor on my 01 wrx.., Every now and then when i put my foot down to accelerate through the gears, the car seems as if i have a flat spot? I can hear the turbo spinning up, but it just feels flat.. then the next min or so later its back to normal. Also when i start up it really smells off petrol. I know that the maf can make it run rich if you have an induction kit at times due to the intake being a different size, Only im still using the factory fitted box.. So does anyone know if it was playing up would there be a warning light to let me know?....

Ive read on here, to test the maf unplug the maf with the car started/idleing and if it dont stall it probly is the maf.

I have similar prob with mine as well, ive unpluged the maf sensor, it didnt cut out it just wouldnt tick over at at constant 800rpm it was up and down. so if my maf sensor knackerd? ow much are they 2 buy?

I think there over £200 new but i been qouted £120 used

think same as mine 5i bugeye set off quick in first and second dump valve comin in put it intu third no dump valve noise seems a bit flat scooby newbie is it maf

maf £125 from subaru for my99. The guy even fitted it for free for me.

How did you no 100% it was the maf & Did it sort the problem once replaced?

Try just cleaning the maf with electrical fluid, spray up inside etc and make sure she all looks clean, car always runs better after that if you have different than oe filter installed.

The car was holdin back mid revs and was told that was the problem. new maf - problem solved
