Default which engine oil

Hay up all
I have been recomended by my tuning company to use 10/40 fully synthetic but I can't find any but I can find 5/50 or 5/40 will these be ok ?

Car is running over 500bhp if that makes a differenc ?

Also the water temp went sky high today just below the red I wasn't it traffic or going to fast. Way could this be ? Low water level maybe ?

Any help is appreciated.

Castrol Edge 10/60? I use it in mine but I don't run 500bhp but it is the oil BMW use for the M engines which would be there or there abouts. I think Halfrauds keep it too.

Millers CFS 10/40 Whereabouts are you? I have 5ltrs of it and I'm in Romford which is just 23 miles from Brands. If you're fairly local it might be worth considering?

If you need it ASAP and you're doing trackwork then you're at the hands of your local motor factors.

I'd pop into Halfords and see whats there, IIRC Mobil1 15w50 or the Castrol 10w60 will do.

Use these for the short term and If you've been recommended 10w40 then at 500HP source the proper triple ester based ones like Motul 300V, Silkolene PRO series or Millers CFS series.

Surely your tuning company sell the suggested oil?

Every time I've ordered from AS Performance I've had a delivery the next day, without fail Alyn's my default choice for everything subaru service related and I only go elsewhere in case he hasn't got what I'm after
