I have a problem with the car overheating when it sits stationary for over five minutes. I think the fan temp sensors knackered but want to eliminate everything else. If I connect the green connectors under the dash with this switch the fan on? If this works then I know it’s not the fan. Secondly, if it is the fan temp sensor, where is it? Thanks for your help. I don’t think it’s the thermostat because it never over heats when I’m on the move. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes, if you connect the test connectors (although do New Ages have those?!
), then the fans are supposed to come on, IIRC. ![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
If not, then it'll be the £27 coolant temp sensor that's failed, probably. Does the car idle erraticallly/nearly cut out too?
Not sure if this particular one is for your car (states for 1992-1998?) :-
