im presuming its cable speedo ?

could be 2 things, speedo cable snapped or

having just converted my mileage from km to mph and taking the clocks apart etc, theres no reason or in fact possible for it to break if it was working before hand unless its been fiddled with/mileage was clocked by previous owner.there is a wheel that is kinda moulded onto the spindal of the mileage spindal and unless this has been fiddled with it cant break(only human hands will break it),this is what turns the mileage around.
the unit its so well intrigated i cant see a reason for it to stop working

it is a strange one i have owned the car for just over a year and it was working fine rev counter is fine speedo is working fine the small mile counter where you reset the mileage when you fill up is fine just the main one its as if its got stuck or cought and cant quite tick over, the next thing im going to ask is that is it any easy enough job to take the clocks out to have a look for myself or is this a job for a garage to do? any help would be great

its easy enough.

remove the 4 screws that hold the surround on that have the hazard switch etc on.

remove the plastic cover that is on top of the dials

remove the black surround, where the handbrake light is on etc

remove speedo needle

remove the 2 screws that hold the speedo dial on

you`ll see the rest and its fairly easy

goodluck

nope,no wires/electronics involved, the main mileage counter is run by a worm gear which is powered by the speedo cable.
in a very very unlucky/strange occurance the worm gear could of snapped but its so tight in there, darlin, that would be very unlikely, but possible i guess.
