Default Water pump change

Looks like I need to change my water pump. Is it a DIY job? I'm no greasemonkey but I've swapped out the suspension before.

Symptoms are that I don't get any hot air from the vents unless I rev the engine... so i guess it isn't moving any water at low revs. Sounds about right?

Thanks

Might sound silly but have you checked that there is enough water in the system and there are no air locks?

have you eliminated the possibility of an air lock? imprezas ae dreadful for them. drain the system. set heaters to hot then fill VERY slowley through the header tank and listen to it burp. then run the engine with the cap off for a few minutes till it starts to puke up. have ou also checked the pipes and rad for blockages.

To change water pump is cam belt off and new belt , apart from that straight forward would also fit new stat in the new water pump.
