Subaru Impreza & Legacy Purple Lable Air Flow Meter Genuine

... You may wanna take a chance on a 2nd hand one off eBay.

That said, the purple ones aren't too prevalent

Found one!:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA-FORESTER-S-TB-MAF-AFM-Air-Flow-Meter_W0QQitemZ350171805285QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_C arsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item35017180528 5&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A16|39 %3A1|240%3A1318

I'd chance it - saving £250-odd!

Sounds like you're overboosting (for whatever reason) and breaching the MAP sensors max boost limit, therefore hitting boost-cut.

Not necessarily a MAF problem, IMO.

Hello

Sorry for dragging this up again. But did you ever solve the problem? I am having the exact same problems (surging and fuel cut). Been quoted £365 for a new MAF but not sure if this is the solution.

I've cleaned the MAF (purple one as well) and the boost solenoid but it has made **** all difference.

Any idea why I would be overboosting? It happens on hot days as well as cold.

Thanks

Mark

£340 - similar to main dealer price IIRC. But it is new.
