Can you get under car and have a look as it could just be running to back off engine from somewhere else?

The only "plates" behind the flywheel are the gudgeon pin access plate on No.4 cylinder and the breather/seperator plate on the back of No.3 cylinder.
If you have a plastic breather/seperator plate - they do tend to suffer from hairline cracks around the screwhole's and will leak.

If you bring the engine up, out of the car and it is the rear housing cracked and leaking we will fix it free out of goodwill. Sort of like a fairy godmother.

It'll take mere minutes to do .

lf it's worse than that, we'll work something out.
