Best Tyre size for 17s
Getting some Pro Race 1.2 in black with red trim for my black wrx
The guy from demon tweeks says 205/40/17 are the best for it.. but 205's are a bit skinny arent they for 17s?
would of thought atleast 215 at a minimum.. whats the general consensus with 17s then?

Depends on the width of the rim
When I was looking at those they were 8" and would be best on a 225 minimum. If you have them in 7.5" 215 minimum

yeah thats what i thought.
my old RS2000 had 8x15s on the back with 225s and 7x15s with 215s. 205s just pointless even if they are proxies

Classic or newage?
The guy at Demon Tweeks doesn't know what he's talking about with 205/40/17's!
Recommended sizes for classics are 205/45/17 or more commonly 215/40/17.
Newage is 215/45/17

yeah mines a classic. my standard 16" alloys have 205s on, so i thought with 17s 215 would be a starting point.

When I bought my classic it was fitted with 205/40/17s. Just changed to 215/40/17s and the ride and handling are a thousand times better - it feels like a different car.

Have any of you have your car lower ?
Just when I had 215/40/17 fitted, my back wheels rubbed on my speedlines and the car is lower about 30>40mm.

when i bought my newage it had 205/40/17,s on and to be honest it looked a bit crap so i put some 215/45/17,s on and it transformed the look of the car(in my opinion mind
)

215/40 17s are the correct size for classics to keep the speedo accurate
