unless your going for 'big' power then just get the std one ported......and use the money elsewhere.

How much would it cost to get them ported and i use the car every day would it be viable to buy a second hand manifold and get that one ported and then put on ?

Yes. This is the most cost-effective header rout you can go down. Indeed there's a respected speciliast, harvey, on here that provides just this service - send him the headers and he'll port them for you (does up pipes too).

PM/email him for info on bhp gains (after a remap), prices, etc...

or alternatively save urself a few quid and do them yourself. ...as stated do the uppipe as well.

I have done quite a few now, here is a couple of pics of the first set I did (although not of actual porting)

pretty sexy ...huh

noticed quite a difference when done, especially on spool up.

Unfortunatally i`m not very confident mechanically minded worried i might f**k something up and damage the engine , and yes does look good does the wrap help with spool up much?

I found the uppipe helped best with spoolup.

the wrap keeps gases hotter inside and therefore flow faster so would increase spool time as well (not that you would notice that one...lol)

I wrapem just to keep under bonnet temps down (very noticable difference too over std heat shields)
