Default power/torque on standard internals/gearbox

does anyone know what power and torque the type-r and sti RA v5/6 standard gearboxes and internals safely take.???
and what injectors are standard on these models?
and what fuel pump?

The gearboxes are the highly stressed, ultra low ratio ones. But, even so, general consensus is that all the Classic 'boxes are pretty much on borrowed time at about 350bhp/350lb ft (dependent on abuse, of course). It's the torque (turning force) that kills the boxes (bhp is simpy a product of torque i.e. torque x revs).

That said, I think the v.5/6 MY99/00 boxes have the 8-bolt bell housing (instead of the MY93-98 4 bolt ones) - don't know if this makes it stronger though(?)

Injectors are the yellow 440cc jobs

Pump is a std Subaru one - does it flow 190 litres/hour(?)

Cheers for your informed reply, and yes i understand that the torque figure is the box killer.
so the v.5/6 sti's have same injectors and fuel pump as the uk MY99 classic then?
rgds,
Andrew

Yes. The MY99 (Sep 98 - Aug 99) STi is officially called "Version V" and MY00 (Sep 99 - Aug 00) STi, "Version VI".
