Default what ECU in a v.5/6 RA or Type-R ??

I'm currently thinking of breaking my MY99 UK classic due to it being a 'CAT C' write off, and getting an RA or Type-R of same age. my car has an ECU TEK licenced ecu. Do the RA's, Type-R's have the same ECU or can they use the ecu in my current car?? my ecu is a ae802 (green)
Thanks
Andrew

Default

you can use that ecu yes..

it would need the crank and cam position sensors swapping and then mapping for the type r engine etc but should be no issue doing so as an sti base map can be used with higher rev limit etc and mapped from there
