Question

Hi All

Advise needed please
Over the last 6 months the Check Engine Light has come on approx 4 times on my 95 uk Turbo
Always within half a mile from home when engine stone cold, (under light throttle as never give it any stick untill fully warm) longest it stayed on was a second at the most, first time it happened it was so quick I could not tell which warning light it was.
Think I'll have to take it to the dealer to see if any codes are in the ECU, my concern is, does the ECU keep the codes or will I have to replicate the fault to the dealer, if so there is no chance they will find it.
Both cats still in the exhaust, just mentioned this incase it could be an oxygen sensor.
Occasional flat spot in 1st when nailed from rest, but being critical here, otherwise runs well

Thanks For any advise
Paul

I have the same problem, had the car plugged into the select monitor yesterday, turns out the temp sensor is faulty, £30 + labour to sort it out.

Hope this helps

Wink

There is a way to make it flash the light a number of times to tell you the error code and then you can look it up... but I dunno how you do it... someone else must do though..
hope you get it sorted.

When my WRX did exactly the same it was a sensor which enabled the ECU to enrichen for cold starts. It packed up completely a few days after the first flash but I already had the car booked in for that & other work. If you want instructions on reading the fault codes or ECU resets post me.

Hi All

Just to let you know, new temp sensor fitted myself £25, all ok
Apparantly it's a fairly common problem according to the dealer
Thanks for your help
