Last few days I have been experiencing an extreamly heavy right foot. As I have changed from 2 to 3 at full chat the car has cut out for just one or two second. Has anyone got any ideas what it could be. Its a 2.5 wrx running full de cat, dump valve, air filter and re-map.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks
First thing i would remove the dump valve, these are just bling bling and will in the end cause bang bang. After removal run and see how better your car feels.
Surely if a good one is fitted then there wont be a problem.
At the end of th day its down to personal preference whether you like a wap-toosh or not.
No, nothing that can harm the engine. Just that aftermarket ones - esp. some of the many VTA types - can upset the fuelling for a second, when coming off boost. Metered-for air by the ECU is being dumped away to atmos, thus too rich mixture on overun when coming off boost e.g. after a gearchange when accelerating through the gears.
If you're prepared to sacrifice potential jerky/uneven running with a VTA for the noise, then that's totally fine. Nothing wrong in that, at all.
