Rear lateral link/track arm bushes, easy job?
As the MOT on the Impreza (MY97 UK Turbo) is coming up in April, I thought I'd have a poke around underneath, just in case. It's just about all spot on, apart from the rear lower lateral links (subframe to hubs), the bushes have seen better days and are deteriorating, I'm sure Mr. MOT man will give me a nice big fail tick for them!
I priced the bushes up from Holdcroft Subaru for a set of four initially (around £32, a lot less than I was thinking they would be!), but thinking on, I may aswell do the inner bushes aswell, though I have to admit the inner bushes look fine.
Is it just a case of pushing the steel sleeves out, prizing/burning the leftovers of the bushes out, clean and refit? Looks similar to the work involved for replacing the front bottom arm bushes on a Mini, always a pleasure, that job.
Or are there any common hidden problems/pitfalls?
