Exclamation WHAT SHOULD I DO... ???

As you may know, I've just had my engine rebuilt by Zen. At the end of the 1000m running in period it's back to Zen for, obviously, a proper oil/filter change and a tweak to the map on the PFC.

The car is currently mapped (by JGM) at 1.15bar for prob about 270-280bhp on the OEM 380s and TD05 16g (but has a STi v.2 TMIC fitted). Thing is, when I take it back, should I seize the opportunity to get Paul to fit the A'PEXi 3bar MAP sensor (so as to be able to up the boost beyond 1.2bar) and, therefore, do a full remap to try to achieve, hopefully, 290-310bhp i.e. at the TMIC's limit? Or would this push ACTs up dangerously high?

Thanks for any advice.

Joz,

Mine made 330/331 on my V3 TMIC, that was run like that for about 2yrs when Mark owned the car, all mapped by Richard @ Tractive, as for temps etc i can,t comment cus obviously i never measured any myself and since buying the car i,ve fitted a FMIC, now producing 350/350 mapped by Bob R.

However, Mark did Scooby Shootout, numerous 1/4 miles in the car with the 330/330 and it never skipped a beat, hope this helps alittle.

What does Paul @ Zen suggest??

That's given me hope lol - thanks for being my 'Canary-down-the-mine', Pete!

This is my ultimate goal too! (Hybrid FMIC, 550s, remap... possibly headers and up-pipe, as well)

Thanks Pete - good info... BTW, was milling around your 'garage' a few hours ago - nice v.3 Type R and mods

Yes. of course - didn't stop to think. v.3's bigger TM can control ACTs at 300-odd, can't it?

Simon, is it okay to push the boost a bit on the STi v.2 TMIC, to try to get around 300, in the meantime?

A fmic can be picked up cheap, I would stick one on and find a cheap set of 440cc injectors from a sti 3/4 and get some boost in there

I was just simply wondering if it's worthwhile fitting the MAP in the meantime, because I CAN . After all, why settle for 280 when I can have c.300 (until I go for 350 later on...)

Stick with it how it is for now, you really need a better I/C to make the best out of any more boost. FMIC with standard headers will be fine on 440s for a while too!

Okay Paul, will do.

I'll get the MAP sensor fitted (because I'll have too, obviously) at the time of a further remap i.e. when I eventually get the FMIC, uprated headers & 550s (still have the 380s at the mo).

See you in 860 miles time ...
