Post classic valves

Hi, can anyone tell me how to remove the valves from the heads, as i took the cams etc off today and want to get the heads off tomorow.

As far as i know you have to compress the valve spring to release the clip from the valve stem and then get the cap type thing off. im not sure if this is right.

Either way can someone help me out please or is there a special tool to do this with??

Many thanks
