Default Help!

I am replacing my cam/timing belt on my 1995 turbo 2000 and unfortunately when the timing belt came off the top right hand side cam shaft (as viewed if standing in front of the engine) the cam shaft sprung and rotated. I am not sure which way it spun and am unsure which way it needs to be turned to get it back to where it started. This is my first scooby and my first attempt at changing a cambelt on one. Have i done any damage? if not can i just align the marks up again? This is also the first time i have used a forum so not even sure if posted in the right place!
