![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have just decatted my car and it's hitting a boost spike at full chat. Well... you know the restrictor pill thingy (very tech
).
What do I need to do to this to make it stop? It's a 95 Turbo with full HKS decat system, Z4, TD05 and running standard boost... Oh and I don't have a boost gauge![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Any help much appreciated

Think you need to drill it out a little to stop it spiking......
However with those sort of mods you're ultimately better off with a three port boost solenoid, a mappable ECU and a re-map. For the sake of your engine at least get a boost gauge and a knock detector (KnockLink).

make sure the restrictor is there.
it will spike with it missing but will not hit fuel cut on stock exhaust/filter.
Once decatted/induction kit fitted it spikes high enough to trigger fuel cut.
have a look here for details of where to find it : Boost Solenoid Plumbing

Thanks guy's. I have a 3 port solenoid already.
I'll get a boost gauge asap then... Scott, that bottom pipe that goes to the resonator box... Well it looks like the lug has snapped off at some point and the previous owner has fitted a thin copper tube as a botch up... the pipe doesn't appear to be tight in there either.
I'll have a little play with it and let you know how I get on.

chris
yes thats the pipe with the pill in and my resonater box was broken in exactly same place, i drilled and tapped it so i could screw in a new fitting.
btw having that disconected will cause the over boost as i have just found out on mine, i went to a 1.5mm hole restricter which has knocked my boost back to 12 psi from 15 psi standard hole size is 2mm
i will be swaping original pill back in later to confirm
if you need a smaller one that you can drill out in stages i have one here its drilled to 1mm atm
but get a boost gauge![Hjtwofinger](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/hjtwofinger.gif)
