Exclamation i think i know the answer but....

My legacy gt auto of late has been very lazy at going into overdrive, this weekend after a long drive it appears to be slipping then catching itself in 3rd and 4th(almost like clutch slip on a manual). is this a terminal problem? of is it something that can be (hopefully) fix with an oil change? any help would be greatfully recieved

i can still get reverse,1st and 2nd

check condition of auto trans fluid it should be a nice red colour if it is brown or smells burnt time to change.

thankyou having change the fluid, this has made no difference, next question fork out on getting it rebuilt or take a chance on a 2nd hand unit???

it may be time to have the gearbox inspected by a garage see what they think could be a simple fix torque convertor,solenoid or indeed its on its way out hope its nothing serious mate.
