what he said,
the sti pinks you have with a FPR will make 400 and with a TD05 20g you will be around that figure.
if you want more than 400 then bigger injectors and bigger turbo than 20g will be needed
aim for a figure and stick to it. hard i know. im on my 4th figure already

standard internals are only good for 450 i believe so i think a nice 420-430 with a high torque figure will do nicely
so shopping list so far
headers GT spec II or ar ethe kukumi(sp) ones ok
injectors 650cc??
turbo, larger than 20g??

You need big boost to get big torque from a 2ltr fella.
In my opinion 20gs rarely make a true real world 400bhp, more like 360,380 depending whos dreamo you go on.
I had my 02 sti at your current level and i'll be honest, the 20g wasnt enough and i quickly wanted more. Id go with a turbo that will comfortably make more than 400.
The FP green was the first turbo that really felt any good on my 2ltr along with the MD321T... id be looking at turbos in that bracket to make the car more exciting to drive than it is now.

What! You got 340bhp from avcr, 255 WALBRO, FMIC, Apexi cold air intake, fidanza flywheel ,3 " tubro back exhaust and an andy forrest map.
Thats what power i am looking for but its gonna cost me £2300!! If i may ask what is avcr?

Yes 340 bhp V7 STI and similar mods,
now gone for 400/360 and it is very nice, but AVCR's are way too expensive now, £500, I'd rather go for a Simtek and let that control the boost. Mine could make so much more, but the std. ecu can't cope with more than 1.55 bar without help ! If you do the injectors you won't need a reg. imho, I did the opposite !

Will 650cc injectors be enough as it looks like they only good for 420ish so would I be best with 700 or Bigger
FP green sells for around 1g and the md321h around 1.4g is that the best prices I can get because to me that seams allot for a turbo
What about the kukuemi headers that flat 4 sell are they any good or should I hold out for gt spec II
Ah decisions decisions just want to jump in her and to to be done LOL

So what is your target?
Its gone from being over 400 to what looks like more than 420 BHP.
At these levels you can slip easily into serious budget needs at each power step, or produce a car that doesn't deliver/ grenades the engine.
What budget have you got to play with?

id be happy with 420/430 bhp and a torque figure of around the 400 mark,
budget wise i can afford to do it but obviously want to do it as cheaply as possible without scrimping on quality items

Ring a specialist tuner that you trust and ask what you would need - opinions will vary on here from ill-informed guesswork to scoobynet myth.
Who that tuner would be is down to your personal preference generally but I would call either mark @ lateral or paul @ zen to get fact rather than myth.
getting over 400 reliably is expensive but it depends on how much over 400 you want as to how much it costs. 401bhp can be done cheap(ish), 499bhp is less cheap
