Default wideband AFR kit?

Iv just got the prosport kit from GB

But i thought the replacement wideband sensor - REPLACED your 02 sensor? Apparently mine doesnt It comes with a weld-in bung, so thats fine yeah, but then the sensor doesnt splice into or replace the existing 02 sensor to the ECU, instead it goes to a little controller box, which powers and sends the reading to the gauge

yes thats right its independent to the OEM sensor and ecu, i think some sensors can simulate narrow band for the cars ecu
