Question Slack Gearstick

Hi, my gearstick is pretty slack and has quite a bit of movement in it. Is there anyway of making it crisper by replacing the bushes in the linkage????

Get under the car, at the base of the stem is a large bush and a spring to self centre it, if its sloppy its not the spring (that effects the return to the 3/4 plane only), but probably the bush, I'm using a US sourced Kartboy bush and its sharpened the shift feel up no end, you can also replce the bush mounting the shifter to the body (behind it in the tunnel) to firm it up even more.
