Default UK Gearbox into Classic JDM?

I am planning to buy a 98 or 99 JDM STi but would prefer to have the UK spec gear ratios, for better motorway cruising. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to fit a UK gearbox, and have a rough idea of how much it would cost?
Thanks.

You would need the gearbox and matching rear diff, for the parts maybe about £500 but what you are removing would cover the cost of the conversion.

Thanks Banny.

Does changing the diff have any other implications?

Nope its all plug and play but bear in mind the STI stuff is stronger and can withstand more power.

That's OK, I wasn't planning on making any engine mods.

Any idea at all on the labour costs?
