Default Newage JDM Engine Change.....

I have a MY03 UK STi and was wondering if there is any issues with changing the engine to a 2.0 JDM version? Is it a straight plug & play swap or are the ECU's different?

I already have the Twin Scroll turbo conversion done so there isnt/shouldnt be any issues there!

Any input would be much appreceiated.

There a possbility my engine is on its way out.

Its either the engine or the turbo, but the turbo was brand new & is only 1000miles old so I really dont think thats the issue.

So instead of a rebuild my UK one I was considering a low mileage JDM lump as I thought they were a bit more robust

Ah right fair enough in that case. Speak with your ECU mapper and see what they best suggest, as I'm not entirely sure if the JDM engines require more tuning or what have you. I do know that they rev to 8krpm though which obviously will need adjusting on your ECU. I imagine everything will run, just might be a few differing things in the mapping.
