Default delimiter problems..

Hello,

Ive recently got a lovely White V4 Sti which I aboslutely love, its a recent import and Ive only just got the delimiter/Kph to mph installed.

Unfortunately today whilst in a bit traffic I noticed the idling suddenly starting bouncing from roughly 900rpm to 200rpm, but didnt stall (was amazed it could go so low without stalling!!!), also the speedo had stopped working.

Pulled over, turned off engine, restarted and it started working again, then after a few mins driving it suddenly went again and then the idling went irratic. Turned the car off for about 10mins, started up again and it hasnt done it since.

speedo works fine as normal, idling absolutely perfect.

Im not that knowledeble with Subarus so any issues will be a learning process, but would that sound more like a faulty delimiter chip?

The car itself is absolutely spot on, very tidy example, not had any problems with idling at all until today (delimiter was installed yesterday).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Leigh

Who de-limited it for you? and where did you get the chip from, this might help answer it.

Thanks for the reply, the chip was actually supplied with the car when I bought it as the guy never got round to fitting it, but the printed instructions show that it was purchased from here.. De-Limiter

Chip was fitted by local Jap specialist who I do have alot of faith in and is highly respected for his work from friends. He said bring it back and he`d take a look obviously but Im now wondering maybe I just need to purchase one myself thats known to be decent before going back?

Just to add ive done about 40miles since the glitch and the car has been absolutely fine.

As nobody else has replied i would definitely suggest having the chip removed to find out if it is the cause, as the issue may actually be somewhere else. You could even do this yourself if your a little technically minded as all you would have to do is remove the wires as instructed on the site link you mentioned just go to Impreza Ver4.

I would try this route personally and take it from their. Or back to the guy who fitted it, seems like a good enough person if he is willing to look at it for you.

Good Luck.
