Default VF35 Turbo

Got a VF35 turbo which i'll put on a MY05 blobeye wrx.

Read other posts about porting the wastegate would I still have to get this done if I used a sportscat.

Thanks Chris

I can't see why you would need to do this tbh.

Aye, the VF35 is well known for suffering boost creep. It's unpredictable though, you don't know if you're gonna get it or how badly until the turbo's in and the map is done. Bit of a gutter to get all that done then have to pay extra to get the turbo removed, ported and fitted again. Don't think the CAT makes any difference, I've got a sports CAT but when I had my VF35 fitted by Harvey he strongly recommended porting, to avoid the scenario above. It cost about £50 I think, well worth it to know I wasn't gonna get any problems

Thanks for the info.

I might play safe and port it.

My car is being remapped on the 17th May, my VF35 is going on next week.

Where can you get turbos ported? I presume its a specialist job?
