Default air bag light

does any one now any one that can sort this out and i take it this does nto run of the ecu as the light has been on for about a year and ive only had my simtec for 9 months this must run off a seperate ecu any help will cool

The airbags have their own ECU. Have you removed some airbags? If not I'd be concerned as to why it has come on. If you have you can fit either a dummy squib (£7 from subaru) or a 3.3ohm resistor (£2 for 50) and then disconnect the battery to reset it

i have not removed an air back and this is not somthing my skill level will be wanting to do so will subaru be able to do this on my import as they dont like jap cars or is there other speaclist garges out there which can repair this

oh and willthis mess up my map settings on my simtec by disconecting the battery

No it won't affect you map settings. It will reset it to the map that was written by the mapper and anything that th ECU has learned since the map will be cleared (good and bad such as compensating for bad fuel) but it will learn all this again in no time.

If you have not removed an airbag something has caused the light to come on and it may be a problem with the airbag.

dam subarus lol money money money, cheers thou dude for the help, but im still going to need a garage to look at this as my skills on the tools are only for oil chaning and minor repairs

It is worth just disconnecting the battery before you spend any money. It will do no harm
