Right - changed the turbo as my old TD05 was knackered. Wastegate was rattling and wheel was grinding on the housing so wouldn't boost til very late.

Now ive changed the turbo im getting a screaming noise when coming onto boost. Ive read on here it could be the up-pipe. Ive got an exhaust blow on the bottom of the up-pipe so got a new gasket from Zen. When I replace the gasket - will it cure the scream?

Also - when the DV releases - I also get a fluttering sucking whoosh sound from the air filter. it is quite loud too. Sounds good to me! I know the filter prob needs a clean so have ordered the cleaner, but is this normal?

Either noises never occured before changing the turbo.

Anybody help me?

just read the turbo chatter thread on here so understand that the noise from the filter is normal with a FMIC.

Anybody know about the screaming noise?

my VF29 makes some very odd noises when boosting with the FMIC and IC, But it sounds bloody good

 

just replaced with another TD05 as I like the late delivery and the punch it gives...

I do like the sound of the chatter! the screaming gets loud tho.. a mate told me it sounds like a rocket outside of the car
