Default Standard STi PPP vs 315 bhp ecutek STi

sorry this is only my first few posts, but still hope someone can share me some light.

well I urgently need more information and advice please. I just had a good run with my mates 53 reg STi with ecutek producing around 315bhp recently remapped on a road with proven image.

but the strange thing is that he is pulling away from me (54 reg STi PPP with 26k on the clock)on every gear with only the extra 5bhp? the speed he is pulling away, was faster than a WR1, which was hardly anything in it. but of course still managed to be in front of me. all carried out on a private road.

is it something wrong with my car or something wrong with my driving style.

Extra 15bhp, though he shouldnt be leaving you standing, your car wont have as much torque or bhp, and it may be your driving style or the fuel you use (v power is best btw ) and before anyone say's it, on the road a PPP'd car will quite happily push out its 305ps, on a rolling road the safety features can cut in and reduce the power.

The Ecutek "should" be giving another well spread 40 lbft which will make the real difference you can see.

I've just had my 53plate PPP STI Ecutek remapped by Bob Rawle and the difference is amazing. Been running just the PPP for a few years and the car was fairly quick and producing about 296BHP on the rollers. Now its closer to 330BHP with the prodrive sportscat still fitted.

Now it seems to hold onto boost for much longer when going through the gears, which alone would help it out drag a standard PPP car.

Mine was a standard PPP mate. If you go to a reputable mapper as I did you will see good gains over the standard PPP with no other mods needed.

I've had 2 PPP cars and they differed massively, power wise. As PPP is a generic map, you may have a car which ihasn't responded as well as others. My second one went back and it came back within tolerences according to Subaru. Don't get hung up on figures, just enjoy it.
