Default 93 WRX boost cut point?

I've got a 93 wrx, it cuts out when it's boosting, not sure when the overboost cuts in. It cuts out at about 1.1/1.2 bar, it's std with just a decat downpipe.

this sounds perfectly normal to me, your decat is making it overboost. a cut around 1.1 bar is correct for safety, normal max boost is about 0.9 I think. I believe the basic quick fix options are fit a manual (or any kind of!) boost controller to limit boost, or perhaps adjust the turbo actuator arm

Max boost on a std 1993 WRX saloon (with the TD05 16g turbo) is 11.47psi (0.79bar).

Subaru most likely set the boost-cut at c.0.2bar more i.e. 1bar (14.5psi)... Or it could be at the MAP sensor's actual limit of 1.2bar(?).
