what power level on this spec?
I've just had my V3 WRX rebuilt forged. Bearing in mind stock power is 276bhp - what power would i be running with the following spec?
*Engine; Mahle forged pistons, manley rods, cometic head gaskets, new crank, acl race bearing, modified oil pump (i know this lot wont make any difference to bhp)
*Decat downpipe 3" bore
*Decat center section
*API ported headers
*K & N filter
*440 injectors
*Walbro fuel pump
*VPOWER fuel
*Standard VF22 turbo
*Standard V3 WRX ECU
What power levels would i expect with the standard map and what increase would i see with a power fc map?
Cheers peeps

yep all import wrx 96 on till 2000 got 276 out the box or 280ps and you would need a ecu to get the full gain and you could be looking at 320/330 depending on how good that vf 22 is and how old

Think you may find its MY98 on for 276bhp on a wrx yours will be 260ps or 220 if its a wagon.
The VF22 isnt a standard turbo either, the only production scoob to have one out of the factory is the 22B and thats because it was a 2.2ltr engine.
Also your car should come with 380cc injectors, changing these, the turbo, the exhaust to a full decat and giving it any sort of serious top end rev range wont do your new build engine any good, except break it down into small metallic pieces and add them to your oil around the engine when it goes bang
So exactly what has been done to your engine that you know about?? (and it sounds like you need an aftermarket ecu if all that has been done!)

i'd consider changing the turbo, vf22 is very fragile and with the expense of mapping (when you get a mapable ecu) might save you some money in the long run.
i think the vf22 was standard on the sti as i have used a vf22 in the past and still have the matching v3/4 sti ecu.

yeah you may be right on the wagons i was referring to the saloon car as mine is a 97 and it was 280ps out of the box and when i put it on the dyno it came in on 276bhp all them years ago but now it a nice 352bhp and its fun and yes my car also came with yellow and they are standard on all the salon wrc from the 97 on to 2001

Hi thanks for replys.
I havnt changed the turbo, i believe the vf22 is the standard turbo on V3's and it does run 276 standard! the injectors are the yellow type (standard) which run 440cc. I have thought about changing the turbo before mapping it. I dont think i'm gonna do any damage at the mo. Turbo and injectors are standard, its just the the straight through exhaust, k and n panel filter and ported headers that have been modded so should be safe for the moment!

No Impreza came with 300bhp, even the 22B came with 276bhp.
As Tony has already said, it was my98 cars that came with 276 bhp as standard.
Also if it came with a TD04 as standard then you would be pretty screwed straight away if you wanted to get more power since the TD04 is at its limit at 280ish bhp

my wrx 1997 went on the dyno and made 276 bhp standard and it is a fact this is why people import them as they were more powerful then the uk one with there heavy bonnets and there very week 210 or was it 215bhp lol

The info here is 20bhp out on every model!
