Hi people,
Can anyone tell me how long it is before they have to top there oil up cause mines only lasting 2weeks before its nearly low on the dipstick, im doing an average of 60miles aday giving it abit of stick in between is this normal oil consumption??

Sounds alot to me but i'm no expert what oil you been using?

 

Shell helix ultara extra fully synth 5w-40 or 5w-30

 

sounds a lot tu me awell ive got a 51 plate bugeye wrx and hasnt moved off the full mark in 6 months doing 60 miles a day

 

Sounds a lot to me as well - i have a modded 03 WRX blobeye running around 340 bhp, and it uses about 1 litre for around 600 miles. It has got 86000 miles on the clock though.

 

That is a lot mate mine barely budges from oil change to oil change on a modded Blob STI. I'd check for viseable leaks first mate.

 

Bull. How many miles has your car covered and what oil do you use/ Does the car have FSH? My car used .5 litre every 1000 miles from 12k. At 22k, turbo was replaced and consumption has been zero since. No smoke, poor running etc, just a worn bearing.

I've only done the oil change 2weeks ago thats whats making me think theres somthing wrong maybe piston ring?? Theres no leaks, no smoke just runs with abit of hesitation since i put standard dump valve back on runs ok tho. I use Shell helix ultara extra fully synth 5w-40 or 5w-30 oil and the car has done 51k. The car has fsh i do a oil change in between.
