Default Questions from a newbie?

Hi All,

Proud owner of an MY01 bug eye wagon WRX.

I know it may well have been answered time and time again but I would rather get the definitive than a few comments here and there.

I am interested in changing the exhaust for this one ...

Apex Performance Parts Ltd | Nissan 200SX parts specialists | Innovate Motorsport Dealers

Firstly is this any good if not why not and what better?

If I get the centre section to go with it is this going to fail an MOT or is it still keeping the cats?

If I do this will I need to get a remap? The reason I ask is it states it will give me around 18bhp is this true?

Can I run without a remap will it damage my engine?

Thanks in advance.

Can't comment on the exhaust quality or performance as never had one mate but if you are keeping the standard downpipe you won't need a rempa, you won't fail an MOT but I would be suprised neigh, amazed, if it managed to squeeze an extra 18bhp from a center section and backbox change with no other mods as you would still have the same hugely restrictive Cat in the downpipe.

There are a million exhausts around that are very good mate, depends what you want from the car to be honest, example :

Do you want it to be loud
Do you want performance but quiet
Do you mind changing the exhaust ever year for an MOT
How much power do you want?

the list goes on

If you want Super loudand performance you would go for a NUR Spec-R with a Decat downpipe

If you want performance but not loud I can recommend the Revolution 3" system (Full decat) nice system, had one on my P1

If you don't want to toll around at MOT time a TSL Thundercat downpipe + and other center and tail will do you, again it's a sound thing.

There are so many combinations you can choose mate.

If you go full decate or sports Cat you will need a remap ideally.
