Mista Majestic

I jumped in the car to go work this morning and after about 5 mins of driving I noticed the temperature needle creep up, only covering about 1 mile before it was almost at the top. No lights came on or anything so I pulled over, switched her off, lifted the bonnet and it all seemed fine, no smoke/steam, coolant is full etc. got back in drove off. The needle rose again, so again i pulled over for about one minute, turned off. Started her up again, needle rose but no sooner did it rise, it then sank to where it normally is and then continued to be normal for the rest of the journey.

The only think I can think of is that I tried jump starting the missus car with it b4 leaving for work, and I may have done something wrong. But thats not rocket science! Are new thermostats easy to fit, incase I need one?
