Don't forget it's a WRX so the figure quoted could be considered the sensible limit?

At least it shouldn't go pop at that figure!
Sounds like the boost is only making the wastegate figure? Make sure the piping to the boost control valve is ok and the valve itself.

I'm no techie with Boost (Bar and PSI) but last night my UK Turbo mapped to 319 bhp hit 24 psi on my boost gauge. Ive never seen it that high. Does it sound high?

Thats about 1.65 BAR! Surely you know what boost it NORMALLY runs? Safe upper limit depends on other mods/internals/map........

I'd ask your question as another thread - it'll get confusing trying to answer the OPs question and getting muddled up with yours.

To JamesyWRX320bhp:

Sounds like very similar mods and boost level to my old 03 WRX which ran 340 hp.
If there's no CEL on, then check over all boost control pipework.

Soory Guys, didnt mean to jack the thread.
The reason I asked was I have a very similar set up to the OP, and was concerned mine was a bit high.

Link G3 ECU mapped by BRD @ 319 bhp.

1.4 bar on a VF35.
The CEL is a dash light that comes on continuously or flashing when the ECU identifies a problem from various sensors. Your low boost level could have indicated the ECU going into fail-safe mode due to a major problem, but the CEL would be on.

If no CEL, but a low boost then I'd go with JohnD's remark.

right update time....thanx butty.

the clutch i have just noticed is slipping.

just spoke to ZEN who mapped it and they reckon a previous owner may have by-passed the ecu to hide the clutch slipping....AR5EHOLES!!!!!!!!!!

anyway, hopefully with a new clutch (that i cant afford after fitting coilovers y/day) and a quick check of the wires from turbo to actuator will get it back on track at 1.4bar - and then hopefully a MASSIVE difference in performace to the .65 bar now!!!!!
