Default Engine misfire codes (only in 4th gear)

Hello i have a 02 wrx.

Two weeks ago i noticed my CEL light flash so i slowed down and it went away. The next day joining a motorway i flloored it in 4th gear from 45 to 80 and the cel light flashed again. So i had the ecu codes checked and there where four codes, which where cylinder misfire (1 code for each cylinder). They where cleared and the car ran fine.

Then the same thing happened again when i floored it in 4th gear but the cel light stayed on. so i cleared the codes again.

I have tested it a few times and the Cel only flashes or stays on when i floor it in 4th gear only.

What will be the most likley cause of this. (plugs, coils) As i dont want to be replacing parts i dont need.

Thanks

If it is the plugs wouldnt it misfire in all gears?

The cars standard. What are the best plugs to buy and what do people gap them to?

Thanks

Don't forget the old "Neutral position switch" error giving rise to Misfire CELS on the Bugeye WRX.

Google or search SN for it.

Thank you for the advice. I think il check the coil packs first and if they are fine then change the nps.

Thanks
