flat spot on boost

Default flat spot on boost

i recently bought a sti 2 and have noticed when accelerting it is very smooth to about 4500rpm but soon after that there is like a spot were the power disapears for about a second and then i have full power again. it is only for split second though.
any ideas on how to stop this from happening and waat is causing it?

What Fuel are you useing ??

i use shell v power, but its the first tank of fuel, the old owner may have used normal.

I have this same thing too, only my Check Engine light came on this weekend and I got fault P0340 Camshaft sensor. It seems this part monitors engine speed and adjusts ignition timing to suit so this would stack up with the fault code. Ordered it on Sat from dealers and it is not cheap at £130 but should see a noticeable difference in power band apparantly. Might be worth getting EOBD on the case to read memory even if light is not on!

cheers mate, ill have to get it plugged into the computer and see what fault codes come up.
