The standard ecu will not run that high before hitting fuel cut (standard ecu fuelcut is about 1bar) and as for running only 0.5bar there must have been a problem as standard boost is 0.8bar.

So the question beggars what else has been done to the car?

Have you asked the supplier of the chip about the boost problem.
i'm still unsure how you've got 1.7bar as the early MAP sensor is only good for 1.2-1.3bar so i would have thought you would get fuel cut earlier?

I run a (1.1bar) Polar Performance chip with a full decat and use a Dawes Device MBC to control the over-boost, mine hits cut as soon as i hit 18psi (1.241054bar)

But like MBW says, its hard to think how you are hitting 1.7bar (24.65646psi) Can you not just re-fit your MBC and set it to 1.1 bar???

i could but it just doesnt feel the same dont like mbc runs smoother on the std controller in third gear if you put the foot down it hits 1.75 bar then overboosts about 5000rpm

So its a wagon then??

Are you sure you have the correct chip for the TD04?? As said earlier it might be worth checking with the chip supplier
