Default Boost Pressure Question [V5 STI]

Hi All,

Just a quick question really.

What is the standard Boost pressure in PSI That a 1999 V5 Sti Should be running?

Mine is running a Blitz induction cone, Roger Clarke Decat Downpipe (3" -> 2.5"), Maganex Center (2.5") And Standard STI Back Box.

Was getting 8/9psi boost before the Decat, Still getting about 9psi boost, but with a boost creep of 2psi to 11PSI

Is this the right boost pressures? If not, What do you think might be the cause?

I look forward to the replys!

Cheers

Peter

As standard it should be running 1.1bar which equates to about 16psi.

running that boost i dare say the brass pill is missing or you have a direct pipe to the actuator. cheers max

Been On The Phone To Jollygreenmonster.co.uk

Excellent help and advise, suggested the Brass Restrictor pill was in the wrong place, or missing. Had a look, and there it was, Sat on the Actuator side of the T-piece!!!. Swapped pipe so pill was between compressor housing and T-piece. Back to 16psi 1.1 Bar of boost as I should have been running.

All I can Say is WOW!, Mega difference.

Thankyou very much jollygreenmonster.co.uk!

Any a thanks to Max as well, as noticed you have given me same advice after they did!.

Case Closed.

Cheers

Peter

Got a similar issue on mine, believe the restrictor pill is missing in total, where can you get these from?

either make them from solid rod/studding etc and drill small hole in middle depending on boost wanting to run. Or main stealer i guess. cheers max

Thank you, are they all one size? As I have a V3 sti that's meant to have a tilted TMIC, got a V6 TMIC with the BOV attached to it, had the hoses changed on the original DV by the previous owner, so will I need to find the hose size prior to ordering?

Cheers
