OK so I admit it I'm sad but I'm thinking of trying to stick a spark plug in my standard exhaust before I replace it for a new performance one.
So will anyone one own up to having done it?
Do i need a soloniod? (cos I read somewhere you don't need one)
Will it work if I mount it into the back box cos I have the twin tailpipe and I can't be bothered to wire two up?
Does it really work?
Cheers.

MMMMmmmm strange. Full decat system with atmos DV might do the biz for you if you get the exhaust nice and hot. I think someone has been pulling your leg mate, or are you trying to pull ours?

Never heard of it being done mate?
It used to be really popular but it fails MOT's these days so it don't happen much now. They even used to sell kits comprising of solenoid plug and wiring and i think they still do.

Official - its not a wind up!
A mate of mine had a similar setup on a V8 Landrover for "comedy" purposes. From memory (so I could be wrong!) all it consisted of was a spare coil connected directly to a spark plug that was mounted in the tail of the exhaust.
What he'd then do is give it some revs and on overrun he'd press the button (gear level mounted of course for true James Bond effect!) which powered the coil, which caused a spark and 10ft flames along with an afterburner sound effect out of the exhaust!!! :-)
Needless to say, he had some fun with it ;-)

Just speak to Mike Rainbird I think the rather impressive flames he produces from his Cossie might have something to do with this
