Default engine swapped

ive just swapped my engine with knacked bearings due to me not filling oil for a replacement of similar milage to the old one but the one was mapped due to some mods i.e vf35 sport de cat fuel pump etc, will this new one need mapping then? feels fine and sounds perfect
all ive done is lift old one out and dropped a compleat new one in everthing except turbo unit which i swapped over

cheers

mmmm i suppose so cos its only going to be in back of my mind
just took it for a quick blast boosting ok as normal but seams to not have the punch that it may have once cheaked...wonder if it would be wise to put my throttle body on
need timing belt first so have to save 2 hundrad up for mapping and keep off loud peddle for a bit

drive off boost untill you get the afr's and det checked! (otherwise could cost you a lot more than a price of a remap)

might be ok as is but will need a remap for best performance.

The Map is stored on the Ecu & it is virtually like for like, So you won't be far off the mark. Possible difference's could be, Compression, Injector flow Etc, For peace of mind you could get the Air Fuel ratio checked & check for Det Etc as said above, Maybe cheaper than a remap if not required Etc.

cheers for replies
think first thing will be timing belt but did just give it a run for 15 mins and feels hell of a lot better than old one can put it in top gear far quicker than old engine and pulls, even before bottom end started to go it was rubbish for years never used top gear really so suspicious of old engine even more now

then just give it a small blast and feels good only for split second but boosting fine but will have it cheaked after belt done i supose
compreation feels alot stronger too but is it that that alters AFR?

Afr is altered by a combination of things, All engines perform differently, Some better than others. A better performing engine will suck more air & fuel & burn it more efficiently, producing more power. remaps are specific for a set amount of criteria met during the mapping session, But mappers do build variables in, After all, Outside temps Change from month to month & all these also affect Afr Etc.

Always worth monitoring det and AFRs on tuned cars imho.

A RR will be able to check these for you - cheap.
