Hmmmm, when it sounds too good to be true it generally is that case!
I'd say get the car mapped by a pro buddy, they know the ins and outs of the ecus on these cars and wont map the car beyond its structural and safe limits! im getting my 2002 wrx bug mapped by simon @ jollygreenmonster at the end of the month, ill let you know how it goes if you fancy it???

the software they give you is actually opensource (so free to download)

and it can be used on that ecu without that little box thingy, and will give you full control over ign and fuel maps (way better than a generic map which they are offering)

if you dont know what your doing then dont adjust anything.

youd be ok to flash one of their generic maps onto it but make sure you get the afrs and det checked straight away to make sure it is safe.

xpt tuning do some maps for EU cars, about £35 with the current exchange rate, Although there is also a lot of free stuff about, just that you will need to do some logging to check it all out, You need to allow some time to understand what you are doing if you stick with tried and trusted mods then you should be safe, just not be as good as a bespoke map. The PPP is after all a generic ecu flash, this map is available if you look around. I have been into tuning cosworths for a long time, I can say that a generic map is ok, but when I had my car mapped by Karl Norris it was a lot better than my previous collins generic chip. You get what you pay for in tuning. But then again I have messed around with generic maps on my WRX, but once all of my mods are fitted will get it remapped by an expert.
I just looked at the link, it appears to be just a tactrix type of cable with a serial to usb converter and a few generic maps supplied on a disc probably with romraider and ecu flash supplied as well, best just get the cable the software and maps are available if you check out the romraider website.

Andrew Carr will do it using OS software, and he DOES know what he's doing, IMHO !

A club members bug-eye WRX just made over 300 bhp on the std turbo.....
