API

Very well respected on here. Quite a few people around here are running API engines, including myself. Do a search and you'll find plenty of praise for them

I recently had Tracktive Solutions provide me a rebuild to deliver the upper target of what you are after. They are based in Leicestershire.

I know... I paid him for an engine rebuild and then he had the cheek to tear the keys out of my hands, and thrash the pants off it at ScoobySprint the other week.

LOL he did say, although I don't think I wanted to be in the van with him with Robin coming back from Brands test the week before TA.

You need to speak to the builders direct for quotes. It could be anywhere between £4 - £40k, depending on what you want.

If you're in the West Midlands I would look no further than David and the guys at API based just outside Leamington.

If you're honestly looking at 500bhp, it will easily be in excess on £10k..

Then depending on your car (ie, a non 6 speed), you will also need the drivetrain modified to handle th extra torque & power... minimum £3k..

Then, you will need to slow the b8gger down, budget another minimum £1k..

If you are planning to go round bends, don't forget suspension/chassis mods for more cash...

If your planning to go round corners quickly, then you have breathers and fuel systems to upgrade.

Unfortunately a build involves more than just the engine.

Good luck and I hope you don't mind spending cash!

Yep, +1 for David and the crew at APi.

I reckon your estimates are in the right ballpark too;most people think in terms of the engine alone, but there is much more too it than that!

That reminds me, must phone David about that 6 speed gearbox.
